Chicken-coconut curry with broccoli

Another quick and easy indian-asian recipe when you´re in the mood for a yummie dish but don´t want to spend too much time in kitchen.

Ingredients:

500 g chicken breast
500 g broccoli
1 tbsp red  or green chili paste
1 tin coconut milk
250 ml chicken or vegetable stock
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp fish sauce
3 tbsp cornflour/ corn starch
2 tbsp oil

Method:
  • cut the chicken into bite pieces, put into a bowl and mix with the cornflour
  • cut the broccoli into florets
  • heat oil in a pan and add the chicken. Fry until soften brown and keep aside
  • put the chili paste into the pan, fry slowly on medium heat and add the lemon juice
  • add the chicken or vegetable stock and mix well with the paste
  • then add the coconut milk and cook for 2 or 3 minutes
  • add the fish sauce
  • add the broccoli florets and cook for 5 to 8 minutes, depends on the heat
  • now add the chicken pieces to warm them up
make sure that the broccoli doesn´t get too soft.

Serve with rice or any indian bread.

Enjoy your meal. :)

Shahi Paneer and Onion Bhajis

Hello my dear ones...

I´m really sorry that it took so long for a new post. Where did all the time go??
I had one week off, which started with a company party, followed by some days at a friends place where I  shopped winter shoes already. O.o .....eeeks.. and then there was my birthday too.

That week was so fast, I couldn´t believe it when I went back to work on Monday, just to realise that my department chief was on sick leave..
Yeah.. no chance to start slowly, I was thrown into chaos immediately.

The result of it ? I needed some me time. Some good time.. and good food ;)
I still had some Paneer and somehow was in mood for a yummie snack too and there were so many onions that I could prepare both.

With a new colour into autumn

And then one morning you wake up and it´s still dark outside. It´s getting sensible colder now and up here in north Germany it´s raining since couple of days..

Is that this autumn which everyone is talking about already? Was that it with summer?
Well, don´t get me wrong. I like autumn, cosy evenings on the couch with tea and candles. Well, me on the couch, candles and tea on the table of course. ;)
Colourful trees which slowly loose their leaves...
But it´s getting dark earlier and sun

Hello everyone,

we changed our design and hopefully you like it too. Maybe you tell us your opinion?

Besides that, Honey opened another blog where it´s all about creative stuff.
You find the link below her picture.

But otherwise nothing changed. We´re still the same. ;)

We wish you all a super start into the new week.

Movie review: Chennai Express - Just laugh

So finally I watched Chennai Express in a full packed cinema in Hamburg where most of the audience was Indian. Which doubled the fun with all the cheering, whistling and clapping moments.
After all the hype and the couple of reviews I read here´s now my two cents:

This time we see Shah Rukh Khan in a different Avatar, again he is Rahul (naam toh suna hoga), but this Rahul is a 40 year old Halwai wallah (a confectioner) who is still single but ready to mingle.

After the death of his grandfather, he´s all set to get to Goa for some fun with his friends, though his grandmother requests him to take the ashes of his grandfather to Rameshwaram, one of the holiest places in India.
He just decides to fool his grandmother, telling her that he goes by train to south with the ashes, just to get off at the next station where his friends are waiting for him.

But then, parodying the train scene from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, SRK helps board the damsel in distress Deepika Padokone (Meenamaa) and the big sized goons
