New gel, new art..

Hello my dear ones,

since I´m a bit of some colour gels from Jolifin, I searched the net for options.
I´m always reading comments and recommendations of professionals but unfortunaltey one can´t order in every store without a trade license.

But luckily it´s possible at Golden Nails and so I tried my luck. I read many good opinions about it and these are the 4 colours I chose: Nougat, Wicked & Mauve Mystic.

Delivery was super quick and I couldn´t wait to try the colours. Nothing special design wise.. but I had to know how they are to handle.

I´m very satisfied with them, good coverage so that it´s possible to work in thin layers.
Of course I had to do my own nails then too because I immediately fell in love with the colour Mauve Mystic.

This time I took two pictures since the colour in the one with flash looks a bit different than in real.

This one is without flash:

Used products:
-Primer soft - Nail Expert

The most recommendable product for me is that High Gloss Finish Gel from Nail Expert. It´s a super shiny finish gel which lasts really long.

Have a lovely week everyone!

New year, new nails

Hello all you lovely people!

I´m wishing you a very happy and prosperous new year, though it´s a bit late but anyways..
Hope you all celebrated with family and friends to start the new year surronded by your most important people.

Christmas is long gone with all the cheer and good food. :) Now it´s back to business and so I was in need for new nails.
Remember, I bought a couple of new colours last year and so I tried another one, called "Rouge Noir". Well, I´m a bit disappointed cause the gel was very hard to handle. It´s so liquid that it always run to the cuticle and I had to clean a lot.
Well, for pros it might not be a problem but I´m not a pro.
Anyways, the result is ok and the colour itself looks quite nice, what do you think?

Products:

Merry Christmas!!

It´s almost there.
Christmas is around the corner. Are you having a stressful time? Buying the last gifts etc.?
I take it easy as it should be a stress free time.
Well, maybe I also get a bit hectic in the last days then.. let´s see. ;)

At least I did my nails and created a christmas design, which wasn´t too easy to choose this time. I couldn´t decide between white with green and red flitter. But that looked more like the italian flag than Christmas. ;)

Well at the end it was red glitter then, which troubled me a bit since I tried a new method. But nevertheless.. that´s how they look now:

Products:
-Primer Soft -Nail Expert
-Bonding gel - Nail Expert
-Multiglitter - Jet Set
-Builder Gel - Nail Epert
-Cleaner- Nail Expert
-Stamping polish white- Nail Expert
-Stamping pattern- Konad
-High Gloss Finish Gel -Nail Expert

I think the Christmas theme can be recognized. ;)

So far I used the builder and finish gels of Jolifin but I read in many forums that the gels from Nail Expert have a better quality in that price section. So I ordered them and there is nothing to complain.
The High Gloss is super shiny and the builder gel is good to work with.
Now I just have to see if it will approve during the next weeks.

In this spirit I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy your time with family and friends.
And have a happy new year 2014!!

Hope you will visit this blog next year too. :)

The joy of Christmas cookies

Hello my dear ones,

this weekend I used the time to get a bit into Christmas mood. Of course the apartment is decorated nicely with chain of lights, snow mans amd reindeers but that moist and stormy weather wasn´t too winterly.
We had quite a storm here in northern Germany and so there was not much spirit to leave the house.

That´s why I used the time to make some Chistmas cookies and this way there was at least the smell of the season in my home.
Maybe you´re also in the mood to bake? Then here is the really easy recipe.

Ingedients:

500 g flour
250 g sugar
 50 g butter
   3 eggs
   1  tbsp cinnamon (optional)

The dough should rest for one night!!

For the decoration you can use what ever you wish for. I opted for dark chocolate coating, desiccated coconut, brittle and almonds as well as a lemon coating. (2 tbsp lemon juice mixed with 200 g powdered sugar and 1tbsp warm water so that there is a viscous paste.)

Method:

Put the flour into a bowl and form a well in the middle. Add the butter, sugar, cinnamon and eggs into it and mix well until you have a smooth dough. In the beginning I use a mixer but as soon as the butter is spread I use my hands to knead the dough.
Make sure that the dough isn´t too moist in the end. Eventually you need to add a bit more flour, but not too much!

Form a ball out of the dough and wrap it in cling foil. Put into the fridge over night.

Next day just roll out the dough, it should be around 0,5 cm thick. Now use different biscuit cutters and put the biscuits on a backing tray (greased or covered with baking paper). Bake them for 15 minutes on 180° c.
After cooling you can decorate them as you wish.

The dough was enough for 4 full baking trays, so you have a little on stock. :)

Enjoy the procedure

Autumn/ Winter nails

Hello all you lovely people! :)

Finally I found some time to post something. Unfortunately I´m still so occupied with work that there is almost no time for something else. Except for nails of course. ;)

Couple of weeks ago, Honey and me were lucky at a Jolifin shop, when there was 50% sales discount and so we took that chance to buy some new colours and other fun stuff like christmas-stamping motives etc.

That meant I had to try a new colour :) Sadly you can´t see the little sparkling on that picture but in reality it looks very nice.

So here are my current nails:

used products:
-Primer Soft-Nail-Expert
-Bonding gel-Jolifin Studioline
-Purple planet from Jolifin
-Selex Gel thick from Jolifin
-Cleaner -Nail-Expert
-Stamping paint white - Nail-Expert
-Stamping pattern from Konad
-High gloss sealing from Jolifin

Before that design I tried some green. At first it was really odd, since green isn´t a colour which I see on nails. But somehow I wanted to do something different and they really turned out well and I liked it. A touch of "wood fairy" ;) What say?

Now slowly it´s time to think about a christmas design.....
